Joao Moutinho is a professional footballer from Portugal who was born on September 8, 1986, in Portimao, Portugal. He currently plays as a central midfielder for Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.
Moutinho started his professional career at Sporting CP in 2004, where he spent six years before moving to Porto in 2010. He won the Primeira Liga three times with Porto. In 2013, he moved to AS Monaco where he spent five seasons and won the French Ligue 1 in the 2016-17 season.
Moutinho has also represented the Portugal national team, where he has amassed over 120 caps since making his debut in 2005. He was a part of the Portugal squad that won the UEFA European Championship in 2016.
Moutinho is known for his technical abilities on the ball, his passing range, and his tactical intelligence. He has been described as a "complete midfielder" by many football experts and is widely considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world.
